A Paradise on Earth...
In 1875, a phlegmatic Britisher administered the virgin Kumaon Hills tucked away in the lap of the Himalayas. One morning, he spurred his steed up and down the vales in pursuit of the most splendid sunrise in the Himalayas. Atop a hillock, 6600 feet above the sea, he tarried his mare and watched awestruck. For what he saw sent his heart leaping, his sense reeling. He gasped.

Sir Henry Ramsay discovered Khali, an enchanting paradise not far from the Himalayan ranges at Almora, U.P. It became home to him instead of good old England. The Khali Estate also inspired Mr. Wilson, another Britisher who created a dream home here, among the majestic Khali hills and dales. The illustrious Nehru family were enchanted with khali and spent memorable holidays in this very paradise.

Surrounding Khali
Mountain Resort is 22 kilometers north of Almora town in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is open round-the-year. Right now, Khali Estate is a paradise treaded upon by few.

You can stand and stare or stroll through the 25 acres of Khali. But if you are more adventurous, you can take off to Binsar, Kausani or Chowkori to get within kissing distance from the Himalayas. Or you can ramble through Jageshwar, where sky-high deodar trees line the path to Shiva. Or if you are trek-happy, you can even be escorted to the Pindari Glaciers.

Chances are you will just want to sit back in Khali and watch the Himalayas... all the way from Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nandakot to Badrinath, Sumeru, Kedarnath Shivling and Gangotri.
